LIHU‘E — A wealth of road-related projects are on tap with work stretching from the west end of the island to the north, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in a weekly update on Friday.
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Feb. 9. All work is weather permitting.
Anahola
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for construction of a fire break, between Aliomanu Road and Hui Road, on Monday, Feb. 5, through Friday, Feb. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
‘Ele‘ele
A right lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) is possible in either direction for shoulder grading, between mile marker 0 and 3.8, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway, beginning Monday, Feb. 5, through Friday, Feb. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kalaheo
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for storm drain installation and paving, between Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, nightly through Friday, Feb. 9 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kealia
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for cold planing and paving, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, on Sunday, Feb. 4, through Friday, Feb. 9, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kilauea
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for tree trimming, between mile marker 23 and 26, in the vicinity of the Princeville Airport, beginning Monday, Feb. 5, through Friday, Feb. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile marker 20 and 23, beginning Monday, Feb. 5, through Friday, Feb. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Koloa
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass cutting and guardrail clearing, between mile post 7 and 15 in the vicinity of Maluhia Road and Ohi Place, on Monday, Feb. 5, through Friday, Feb. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile marker 7.2 to 10.3, in the vicinity of Koloa Road, beginning Monday, Feb. 5, through Friday, Feb. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Lihu‘e
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for cold planing and paving, between mile post 0.7 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, beginning Sunday, Feb. 4, through Friday, Feb. 9, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for grass cutting, between mile marker 2.6 and 3, on Thursday, Feb. 8, and Friday, Feb. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in the southbound direction for grass cutting and guardrail clearing, between mile marker 3.6 and 4.2, in the vicinity of Wailua Golf Course, beginning Monday, Feb. 5, through Friday, Feb. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible in either direction for restriping of Kuhio Highway, between North Leho Drive and Kuamo‘o Road, on Sunday, Feb. 4, through Friday, Feb. 9, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Princeville
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in either direction for debris removal and hauling of slope material, between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, from Monday, Feb. 5 through Friday, Feb. 9 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.
A full closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible in both directions between Hanalei Plantation Road and Hanalei Bridge, nightly through Friday, Feb. 9, from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. for Hanalei Bridge deck replacement.
Wailua
A single lane closure on Kuamoo Road (Route 580) is possible in the vicinity of the Opaeka‘a Falls lookout, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice for slope stabilization.
Waimea
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible in the westbound direction for road repair, between mile post 23.5 and 24, in the vicinity of Kikiaola Boat Harbor entrance, on Wednesday, Feb. 7, through Thursday, Feb. 8, from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m.
