NUMILA — The Kaua‘i Coffee Fair Trade Committee is accepting applications from people committed to bettering the local community.
The application period started on Jan. 22 and runs through Feb. 5 for applicants who are limited to Kaua‘i, the home base for Kaua‘i Coffee Company. Interested individuals can fill out an application form that is available online at https://forms.office.com/r/HW9QpS59Ln?origin=lprLink.
Kaua‘i Coffee is a Fair Trade certified company committed to ethical and sustainable business practices. At the heart of its mission is a deep-rooted commitment to giving back to the community it calls home.
“We believe in creating a positive impact that extends beyond our fields and facilities, enriching the lives of those in the communities we serve,” said Kaua‘i Coffee said in announcing the Fair Trade awards.”This decision to award Fair Trade contributions is made by a collection of Kaua‘i Coffee employees, namely the Kaua‘i Coffee Fair Trade Committee.”
The vision of the committee and Kaua‘i Coffee is to foster sustainable development and empower local communities.
“If you are looking for funding to help bring a project to live, or help your nonprofit or organization, please complete the application online,” the Kaua‘i Coffee Fair Trade Committee said.
“We aim to support the tangible contributions and transformative projects you are working on that have a direct impact on our local community here on Kaua‘i. Winners will be selected based on community needs and how closely project values align with Fair Trade criteria.”
The Kaua‘i Coffee Fair Trade Committee is seeking applicants to spend its community allocations. Applicants, including nonprofit or community organization should have projects related to child care, community infrastructure, education, food security, health and sanitation, health services, housing and other community services.
The deadline for submitting applications is Feb. 5.
Additionally, the Kaua‘i Coffee Fair Trade Committee is limiting applications to applicants based on Kaua‘i. The Kaua‘i Coffee Fair Trade Committee will provide an update if the program opens to the greater Hawai‘i region.
