LIHU‘E — A number of road-related projects are scheduled for the upcoming week with work ranging from cold planing and paving to grass cutting and guardrail clearing, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in its weekly update.
The following is a list of projects on tap for the workweek ending Jan. 19. All work is weather permitting.
Kalaheo
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for storm drain installation in either direction between Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, on Monday, Jan. 15, through Friday, Jan. 19, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kealia
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for cold planing and paving in either direction, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, on Monday, Jan. 15, through Friday, Jan. 19, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kilauea
A right side lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for tree trimming in either direction, between mile post 23 and 26 in the vicinity of Princeville Airport, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, through Friday, Jan. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kipu
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for grass cutting and guardrail clearing in either direction, between Pu‘uana Road and mile post 8, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, through Friday, Jan. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Lihu‘e
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for guardrail maintenance and grass cutting in either in the vicinity of Rice Street, beginning Tuesday, Jan. 16, through Friday, Jan. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for cold planing and paving in either direction between mile post 0.7 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, beginning Monday, Jan. 15, through Friday, Jan. 19, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A closure of the climbing lane on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for repair of the truck climbin lane in the northbound direction between mile post 0.78 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, on Tuesday, Jan 16, through Friday, Jan. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Lumahai
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for grass cutting and guardrail maintenance in either direction, between mile post 5.64 to 9.65, on Tuesday, Jan. 16, through Friday, Jan. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Princeville
A road closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible for debris removal and hauling of slope material in both directions between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, nightly from Tuesday, Jan. 16, through Friday, Jan. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be alternated through the open lane.
A road closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible for Hanalei Bridge deck replacement in both directions between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, nightly from Sunday, Jan. 14, through Friday, Dec. 19, from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
Puhi
A roving shoulder closure Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for weed control around guardrails, signs and posts in either direction, between mile post 1.5 and 6 in the vicinity of Nani Street, on Tuesday, Jan.16, through Friday, Jan. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Wailua
A single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible for slope stabilization work in the vicinity of the Opaeka‘a Falls lookout, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for guardrail maintenance and grass cutting in either direction between mile post 3.72 and 4.97 in the vicinity of Marine Camp Road and Leho Drive, fronting Wailua Golf Course on Tuesday, Jan. 16, through Friday, Jan. 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
