Rossiter Ronald Kamealoha Oana, Sr.
Rossiter Ronald Kamealoha Oana, Sr., of Kalaheo, passed away on Jan. 4, 2024, in Kalaheo at the age of 84. He was born on Jan. 23, 1939, in Lihu‘e. He was a telephone linesman with Hawaiian Tel Company and a long-time musician with the Punuas.
He was preceded in death by parents Stanley Manaia Oana, Sr. and Elizabeth Leialoha Kanoho Oana, wife Marjorie Napua Rodrigues Oana, son Rosswell Raoul Kaleolani Oana, granddaughter Weslyn Jerves, grandson Don Sadomiano, brother Stanley Manaia (Smokey) Oana, Jr., sisters Eleanor Leinaala Carvalho and Flora Ornellas.
He is survived by wife Victoria Navarro Oana, sons Rossiter R. K. Oana, Jr. of Oma‘o, stepsons Michael Oana of Vancouver, Washington, Chris Oana of Vancouver, Washington, daughters Raenette (Danny) Sadomiano of Hanama‘ulu, Rhonda Jerves of Hanama‘ulu, Rona (Reuben Yadao) Oana of ‘Ele‘ele, Romy Oana of ‘Ele‘ele, stepdaughters Nani (Matthew) Burger of Oregon, Angelina Kays of Kalaheo, 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at Lihu‘e Lutheran Church on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024. Visitation is from 8 to 10 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at 10 a.m.
The family requests aloha attire and welcomes flowers.

Jon Ohman
Jon Ohman passed away Dec. 26, 2023, in his home in ‘Ele‘ele due to complications after a stroke. He was born in Olympia, Washington, on March 7, 1952.
He was preceded in death by parents Art and Frances, brother David and niece Andra.
He is survived by sisters Karen Reeber, Lori (Bob) Heckman, brother Robert (Danna), seven nieces and nephews, seven grand nieces and nephews.
Jon will be truly missed by his family and extended family and friends on Kaua‘i and the mainland.
A gathering will be held at Salt Pond Beach Park on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 1 p.m. Please bring memories and chairs.
Maria del Rosario Garza
Maria del Rosario Garza, of Princeville, passed away on Jan. 5, 2024, at the age of 73. She was born in Brownsville, Texas on July 25, 1950, and was a librarian.
She was preceded in passing by her parents Geronimo and Maria Luisa Garza.
Rosario is survived by her husband David Montgomery, sisters Alice Parr, Beatrice Covalt and Frances Alvarez.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Rosario by donating to the Kaua‘i Humane Society or the Kaua‘i Food Bank.

Dr. Scott Charles Viguie
Dr. Scott Charles Viguie, 52, of Davenport, Florida, passed away on Dec. 27, 2023. He was born in San Francisco, California, on June 9, 1971, and was an Archaeologist, Attorney, Actor, and Author.
He was preceded in passing by father George Viguie and brother Tom Viguie.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Debbie Viguie, mother Margaret Viguie, kids Patches and Schrodinger.
A private service was held by the family on the island of Kaua‘i. A celebration of life will be held in the future in Davenport, Florida.

Duane Simeona
Duane Simeona, of Kaua‘i, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center on Dec. 26, 2023, at the age of 58. He was born in Honolulu on Sept. 22, 1965.
He served in the U. S. Army and was a former employee at Foodland Supermarket.
He was preceded in death by parents Daniel Simeona Sr. and Nasaria Sarono Simeona, brothers Michael Sorono and Darin Simeona.
He is survived by sisters Debra (John) Joaquin, Danette Ibarra, brothers Daniel Simeona Jr., David Simeona, Durant Simeona and Dana (Shirley) Simeona.
A celebration of life to be announced at a later date.

Waile‘a Christian Kerr was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. Waile‘a touched the lives of everyone he encountered with his infectious spirit, unwavering faith, and selfless acts of kindness and love.
Waile‘a was born to Jason Kerr and Kari Mohr, into a family that cherished the values of love, compassion, faith and adventure. From a young age, it was evident that Waile‘a would embody these principles in everything he did. His childhood was filled with laughter, shared with his sisters Savannah and Skye, and the guidance of his grandparents Marvis and Daniel Kerr, Karen and Ken Villabrille.
As a father, Waile‘a was the epitome of love and devotion. His children Elia and Aiden were his pride and joy, and he approached fatherhood with a passion that left an indelible mark on their lives. As a husband, Waile‘a shared a deep and enduring love with his wife, Sophia Kerr. Their partnership was built on a foundation of mutual respect, support, and an unbreakable bond. Together, they faced life’s challenges with courage and resilience, creating a home filled with love, understanding, and shared dreams for their family.
Waile‘a was a man of faith, and his spiritual journey was a source of strength for him and those around him. He demonstrated his commitment through acts of service. His kindness, generosity, and a willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need was his whole life. His faith was not just a belief but a guiding force that shaped his character and inspired those who knew him.
Waile‘a had an amazing talent for making people feel truly cared for. A true foodie at heart, he found joy in sharing meals with loved ones and brightening their days with food made with his full heart. His ability to find joy in the simple pleasures of life created a loving atmosphere wherever he went.
As we bid farewell to Waile‘a, let us remember the beautiful legacy he leaves behind. His life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and the impact one person can have on the lives of others. May his memory continue to inspire us to live with passion, kindness, and pure love, just as Waile‘a did every day of his remarkable life.
