LIHU‘E — A number of road-related projects are scheduled in the upcoming week with projects ranging from storm drain installation in Kalaheo to deck replacement work in Hanalei, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in a weekly update.
The following is a list of the projects for the workweek ending Jan. 12. All work is weather permitting.
Kalaheo
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for storm drain installation in either direction between Kuli Road and Lauoho Road, on Sunday, Jan. 7, through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Kapa‘a
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for construction of fire breaks in the southbound direction between mile post 9.0 and 9.52, in the vicinity of Kawaihau Road on Monday, Jan. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Kealia
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for cold planing and paving in either direction, between Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, on Monday, Jan. 8, through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for grass cutting and guardrail clearing in either direction, between Kealia Road and Ioane Road, on Monday, Jan. 8, through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for construction of fire breaks in either direction, between mile post 12.2 and 12.8, in the vicinity of Ioane Road, on Tuesday, Jan. 9, through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Lihu‘e
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for cold planing and paving in either direction between mile post 0.7 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, beginning Monday, Jan. 8, through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A closure of the climbing lane on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for repair of the truck climbing lane in the northbound direction between mile post 0.78 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, on Monday, Jan 8, through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Princeville
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for grass cutting in either direction, between mile post 28.11 to 28.12, on Monday, Jan. 8, through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A road closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible for Hanalei Bridge deck replacement in both directions between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, nightly through Friday, Dec. 12, from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
Puhi
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for grass cutting and guardrail clearing in either direction, between Kikowaena Street and Maluhia Road, on Monday, Jan. 8, through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Wailua
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for water valve repair in the northbound direction between Kuamo‘o Road and Kapa‘a Bypass on Thursday, Jan. 11, through Friday, Jan. 12, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
A single lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible for slope stabilization work in the vicinity of the Opaeka‘a Falls lookout, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, until further notice.
