Free community health event on Friday

WAILUA — The Kaua‘i County Housing Agency, in partnership with Ho‘ola Lahui Hawai‘i, Project Vision Hawai‘i, Hale Opio and Kaua‘i Fire Department Prevention Bureau, will host a free community health event on Dec. 8 and Dec. 22 at Lydgate Beach Park near the campsites located by Kamalani Playground.

Happy birthday, Melia Okura of Tsunami Taiko, who celebrated her special day by doing Chinese Lion (yes, we have Chinese Lions here on Kaua‘i!) duty at the Contractors Association of Kaua‘i 66th annual General Membership Meeting and Installation of Officers on Thursday at Puakea Golf Course, where Braden Kobayashi of Grove Farm was braving the evening rains to clear the drainage of cut grass that clogged the drain.
