Marie Patsy Lopes
Marie Patsy Lopes, of Hanama‘ulu, passed away peacefully at her home on Dec. 2, 2023, at the age of 92. Born on April 27, 1931, she was a diligent woman who worked in the pineapple and sugarcane fields, provided care for young children, and was a self-employed janitor.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents John Sa and Emelia Garcia Sa, husband Manuel Lopes, daughter Bibiana Lopes, brother Vincent Sa, sister Alice Arruda, great-grandson Chavis Cortez-Duclayan and hanai brother Frank G. Perreira.
She is survived by children Dorine (Junior) Pegeder, Adele (Roy) Duclayan, Derek (Holly) Lopes, Eric Lopes, as well as sister-in-law Helen “Honey” Sa, ten grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Jan. 6, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation with family begins at 8:30 a.m. and Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Augustine “Gus” Utthupu. Inurnment shall follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Kapaia.

Remedios ‘Remy’ Bautista Guyang
Remedios “Remy” Bautista Guyang, 77, passed away on Nov. 19, 2023, in Lihu‘e. She was born on Oct. 6, 1946, in Pozorrubio, Pangasinan, Philippines. She was a retired nurse from Kaua‘i Medical Clinic.
She was preceded in death by parents Addong and Rufina Bautista and brother Dionisio Bautista.
She is survived by husband Jackson Guyang, daughters Jane (Jed) Baris, Jerilyn Guyang, brothers Virgilio Bautista Sr., Filomeno (Erlinda) Bautista, Virgilio (Tony) Bautista Jr., sisters Jovi Guerrero, Purita (Domingo) Norial, Virginia (William Jr.) Batulayan, four grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life is Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. followed by Mass at 10 a.m.

Robyn E. ‘Malu’ Dahle
Robyn E. “Malu” Dahle passed away on Dec. 1, 2023, in Honolulu at the age of 53. She was born on Nov. 18, 1970, in Lihu‘e.
She was preceded in death by father Bill Dahle and grandparents Charles and Loke Kaliloa.
She is survived by mother Rose Dahle of Anahola, significant other Darrick Banasihan, daughter Tiara Rose K. Cummings-Dahle of Anahola, grandchildren Cierra Rose Pa Cummings Dahle, Nakoa Charles K. Cummings Dahle, Khyten K. Alapai, Kaha‘i K. Alapai, numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
A service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation is from 10 a.m. to noon followed by service at noon. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Leonides Osias Bajit
Leonides Osias Bajit, of Lihu‘e, passed away on Dec. 7, 2023, at Wilcox Medical Center at the age of 76. He was born on April 22, 1947, in Villasis Pangasinan, Philippines.
He was preceded in death by son Joel Bajit, parents Mariano and Tomasa Bajit and sister Maxima Jardin.
He is survived by wife Juliet C.Bajit of Lihu‘e, daughter Charlene B. (Harbey G.) Manglallan of Lihu‘e, grandchildren Harley B. Manglallan, Chandler B. Manglallan, Caden B. Manglallan, brother Melchor O. Bajit (Milagros Buduan) of ‘Ele‘ele, sisters Antonia O. Bajit of Kalaheo, Olivia B. (Pablo) Antolin of Kalaheo, Teresita O. Bajit of Honolulu, brother-in-law Rolando Jardin, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo on Dec. 30, 2023. Visitation is from 9 to 10 a.m. followed by Mass at 10 a.m. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.
