LIHU‘E — There are only a few projects scheduled along local roads in the week between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day with all the work to take place between Puhi and Haena, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in its weekly update.
The biggest of the projects is ongoing slope stablization work along Kuamo‘o Road. The following is a list of the roadwork scheduled for the workweek ending Dec. 29. All scheduled roadwork is weather permitting.
Kapa‘a
A right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road (Route 580) is possible for emergency slope stabilization in the westbound direction between mile post 1.6 and 1.7, in the vicinity of Opeka Falls viewpoint and Kahawai Place through Friday, Dec. 29. Lihu‘e
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for slope repair in the truck climbing (right) lane in the northbound direction between mile post 0.78 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, beginning Tuesday, Dec. 26 through Friday, Dec. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Princeville
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible for tree trimming in either direction, between mile post 0 and 10, in the vicinity of Ke‘e Beach, on Tuesday, Dec. 26, through Friday, Dec. 29, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Puhi
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for grass trimming in either direction in the vicinity of Kaua‘i Community College and Koloa Road, on Tuesday, Dec. 26, through Friday, Dec. 29 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
