Misguided support
We are 52 residents deeply concerned about Gary Hooser’s dangerous and misguided support of a resolution calling for an immediate and permanent cease-fire in Gaza in the State Central Committee (SCC) of the Democratic Party of Hawai’i (DPH).
We share the anguish over loss of innocent life in war. However, the SCC’s aspiration for a “permanent and lasting peace” between Israel and the terrorist organization Hamas represents a radical misunderstanding of the conflict.
The resolution equates Israel and Hamas as equal players, which is misinformed, misleading, and dangerous. Israel is a democratic country, a strategic ally, and a key regional partner in the Middle East. Hamas is a Jihadist terrorist group akin to ISIS.
A cease-fire existed between Hamas and Israel before Oct. 7. On Oct. 7, approximately 3,000 Hamas terrorists violated the cease-fire and invaded Israel, committing brutal atrocities against more than 1,200 civilians and kidnapping more than 200 hostages.
Since Oct. 7, Hamas has launched rockets into Israel continuously. Hamas refuses to release all remaining hostages, including women and girls who have been subject to sexual assault and mutilation by Hamas militants.
Hamas has announced their commitment to repeating the Oct. 7 attacks against Israeli civilians until Israel is annihilated.
As much as we all want peace, a “peaceful resolution” is not possible with a terror group intent on destroying Israel and murdering Israeli civilians.
The SCC’s ceasefire resolution fails to recognize that Hamas is solely responsible for this conflict.
The SCC’s pressure should be on Hamas to do the following: 1) Surrender; 2) Release all hostages; 3) Stop firing rockets at Israel.
Call each member of our Congressional Delegation and ask them not to support the irresponsible and dangerous Democratic Party of Hawai‘i and Cori Bush Resolutions calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza:

Concerned residents, Kaua‘i
Gary Hooser has been misguided for over 30 years. Thank goodness 52 residents have signed into writing. From many independent surveys over 75% of Kauai residents seem to know Gary is out of touch with most Kauaians.
Gary party the Democrat party has left Kauai middle class no where to go. The policies that have placed handcuff on reasonable development have been the source of many issues, however its misguiding the public into thinking policies that discriminate come with KARMA.
Unless Kauai demands better leadership and votes out all incumbents Kauai will continue to have the same problems for another 30 years.

The demented slaughter of nearing 20,000 innocent children, women and men by the Netanyahu thugs is, to say the least, not representative of Jews and the people of Israel. There is no question Hamas is a terrorist organization. But you don’t massacre thousands and thousands of innocent people while exacting punishment on the terrorists, pure and simple. The IDF is ignoring all mortality and rules of combat. Most recently the killing of their own people waving white flags trying to escape from their abductors. What more evidence is necessary to show ruthless indiscriminate murder of anything that moves?! Demand CEASEFIRE NOW!

Back in my day, military service was some what popular. My dad wanted me to join the military. But I chose to go to school after high school. Had I gone into the military it would have been immediate action. I took the ASVAB military exam and passed. Pilots. I would have chosen pilots and get stationed in Colorado, then stationed overseas in the Italy or Subic Bay or some bay in the Philippines. Some small island there. 4 years training as a pilot. I would have lost all academics and become a pilot. Just like the military. There was no war at that time. Peace. But I chose not to. Military is good. Also junk. 4 years of your life. Training. Then out. But your life is always in danger and ready to fight. That’s the life of a military person.

We remember the anger once the shock of 9/11 wore off and we wanted revenge but this bombing and killing of innocent children is serving no one’s purpose unless you worship War.
