Louisa Kalanui Adolfo
Louisa Kalanui Adolfo, of Kapa‘a, passed away on Nov. 15, 2023, at the age of 88. She was born on Sept. 8, 1935. She was a retired laundry attendant at Kaua‘i Coconut Beach Hotel.
She was preceded in death by husband Luis Javier Adolfo Sr. and parents Samuel Lei Napohaku and Cecelia Hookano.
She is survived by sons Kevin Adolfo of Lihu‘e, Luis Adolfo Jr. of California, daughters Geraldine Koerte of Vallejo, California, Loretta Copeland of Vallejo, California, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, sister Juliette Asato (Roger) of O‘ahu, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service will be held on Dec. 16, 2023, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation is from 9 to 11 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow.
The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Yvonne Woala Pascua
Yvonne Woala Pascua, 76, of Kapa‘a, passed away on Nov. 25, 2023. She was born in Waimea, Kaua‘i, Hawai‘i, on Aug. 3, 1947. She worked as an HR representative at the Kaua‘i Surf and Westin Hotel and was an active member of the Hale O Na Ali‘i O Hawai‘i Halau O Kapi‘olani, Inc.
She was preceded in passing by her loving husband of 51 years, Raymondo Pascua and parents Martha and Lawrence Kapuniai Sr.
Yvonne is survived by her children Donna Dacay, LeeAnn (Michael) Sukehira, Raymond (Raleen) Pascua, Kathleen Woodward, Suzanne (Randall) Yokoyama, Guy (Tina) Pascua, Stephanie (Glen) Probasco, Stephen (Val) Pascua, Michelle Pascua, siblings Shirley Ann Kauahi, Lawrence (Leina‘ala) Kapuniai Jr., numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, at St. Catherine Church in Kapa‘a, with visitation from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., a funeral Mass at 10 a.m., and burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.

John Gilbert Emery
John Gilbert Emery, of Kalaheo, passed away on Nov. 20, 2023, at his home. He was born on Jan. 4, 1952, on O‘ahu. He was a cabinet maker.
He was preceded in death by parents Roy and Miriam Emery.
He is survived by sons Eli (Jade) Emery, Leroy (Rani) Emery, Lincoln Emery, brother Bill (Dora) Emery, seven grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A celebration of life is Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, at Prince Kuhio Park in Poipu from 2 to 4 p.m.
