LIHU‘E — Hawaiian Telcom President and General Manager Su Shin and Hawaiian Telcom-Kaua‘i employees added to the excitement of the Lights on Rice holiday parade with a large donation to Kauai United Way on Friday.
Kaua‘i United Way Executive Director Lori Almarza and the KUW Campaign Development Director Lynnette Medrano-Stine accepted an award of $12,223 along with morning coffee, treats and fellowship at the Hawaiian Telcom-Kaua‘i baseyard.
The award total represented Hawaiian Telcom employee pledges and a corporate donation.
“We are tremendously grateful to the corporate team and the Kaua‘i employees of Hawaiian Telcom for boosting the Kaua‘i United Way’s 2023 Annual Campaign with their generous contribution,” Medrano-Stine said.
“Through the efforts of such an awesome crew, these wonderful people prove that they truly care and have the very best interest for those in need on Kaua‘i.”
The 2023 Kaua‘i United Way Campaign launched in August with a goal of $600,000.
Kaua‘i United Way is the island’s umbrella charitable organization. One contribution helps people across the island because Kaua‘i United Way’s participating agencies of nearly 30 offer dozens of social service programs.
