PO‘IPU — The National Tropical Botanical Gardens (NTBG) will be hosting its largest plant sale of the year on Saturday at the South Shore Visitors Center located near the Spouting Horn lookout.
PO‘IPU — The National Tropical Botanical Gardens (NTBG) will be hosting its largest plant sale of the year on Saturday at the South Shore Visitors Center located near the Spouting Horn lookout.
Available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (NTBG Members gain early access at 8:30 a.m.), shoppers have an opportunity to purchase plans for their gardens or pick up a few as gifts for the plant lovers on the holiday gift list. Additionally, all shoppers will get a free ‘uala, or sweet potato, slip to take with them.
Available plants include native species, crops, fruiting trees and more. Visitors from outside of Kaua‘i should check with the Department of Agriculture to see which plants are allowed to travel out of state.
NTBG also hosts the weekly Aloha Market, Art + Farm on Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a free hula show starting at 12:30 p.m.
Everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to noodles, spices, sweets, treats and items like jewelry, clothing, art, and household and family accessories, many made on Kaua‘i, will be available for purchase. The weekly market is held outdoors at the South Shore Visitors Center.
