“Many take for granted a joyous holiday like Christmas,” Kalaheo School said in a news release. “This fun twist on a classic takes place in the 1840s England where workers were only given the day off, only if their employer decided to. When visited by the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future, Ebenezer Scrooge is forced to see the coldness of his ‘Bah, Humbug’ ways, and with some help from a few friends, learns to honor Christmas in his heart.”
Laine Griffith has been teaching music, band and ‘ukulele for more than 30 years, and has been at Kalaheo School teaching the Sunshine Express since 1996.
“This will be Mr. Griffith’s final year as he plans to retire,” Kalaheo School announced. “We invite any former students, colleagues or friends to stop by and help us celebrate this momentous occasion at any of the three shows.”
In true Christmas spirit, Griffth said, “The students of the Sunshine Express Club has worked so hard on their singing and dancing, and our volunteers have created adorable costumes. We can’t wait to share this live performance with everybody.”
Have a wonderful retirement, Laine. You’ve done amazing work over the past three decades.
