William ‘Willy’ Kwan Lup Ng Sr.
William “Willy” Kwan Lup Ng Sr., of Hanama‘ulu, passed away on Nov. 16, 2023, at the age of 95. He was born on May 5, 1928. He was a retired truck driver for Sears, Roebuck and Company.
He was preceded in death by wife Rosaline Ng, sisters Tina Tomacder, Dorothy Zane, brother Daso Perlas and granddaughter Lani Lynn Barretto.
He is survived by daughters Jocelyn Ng, Elizabeth “Liz” (Frank) Barretto Jr., son William Ng Jr., four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024, at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary. Visitation begins at 9:30 a.m., service at 10:45 a.m., and burial will follow at Lihu‘e Cemetery at 12:30 p.m.
The family suggests casual attire and requests that flowers be omitted.

Kith ‘Nalu’ Silva-Lacro
Nalu passed away on Sept. 7, 2023, at the age of 28 years old, in Lihu‘e, Kaua‘i. He was born in Waimea, Kaua‘i on Dec. 1, 1994.
Nalu was an amazing person who loved hunting, fishing, and worked with Gill Construction Company. He had a contagious smile and was always there to help others. He’ll be deeply missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by father Edward Lacro, maternal grandparents Paul P. Sr. and Helen Silva, uncles Noland Silva, Orlie Kimble, Joseph Grace, paternal grandparents Vicente and Teodora Lacro.
He is survived by mother Paula Bacio, sisters Phrystal Bacio, Larlyn (David) Fitzpatrick, Laynette (Tim) Parbo, Leslie Lacro, Leilan Kolaski, brothers Lyman (Erika) Lacro, Chad (Amberlynn) Rita, Chaz Rita, numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service is Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo. Visitation is from 8:30 to 10 a.m. followed by services at 10 a.m.

William Val Badua
William Val Badua, 72, passed away on Oct. 26, 2023, at his home in Lih‘ue. He was born on Dec. 22, 1950, in Waimea, Kaua‘i. Val was a Waimea High School graduate, Vietnam War Veteran, avid surfer, and skilled salt maker. He was a member of Operating Engineers Local #3 and worked in the construction industry for 35 years, retiring in 2007.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mabel and William Badua, brothers Leonard and Milton Badua.
He is survived by his wife Debra, son ‘Aukai Badua (Vicky Wolfe), daughter Gabrielle (Daniel) Del Toro, grandchildren Waiola, Kupa‘a, Sanoe and Haweo, sisters Stella (Aaron) Ho‘okano of Honolulu and Michelle San Nicholas of Guam.
A celebration of life, with dinner to follow, will be held on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will occur at a later date. The family requests casual or aloha attire and welcomes flowers.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the first responders, Reverend Carolyn Miura, Kaua‘i Hospice, and the Garden Island Mortuary.
