What a marathon weekend of openings (congratulations to Sheldon and Kristyn Peralta of Bubbah’s Toy Box on being able to open the doors of Sissy’s Stationary and Stuff that had a line waiting on Saturday morning) … Sheldon said they’ve got more stuff coming so make sure to stop by. Congratulations to Yoshi and the Kilauea Ag Park ‘ohana on the opening of Johnny’s Market where Kamehameha VII (he said he legally changed his name) and the first Queen Kamehameha mingled among the throngs of people enjoying each other’s company) … great way to spend Small Business Saturday.

Congratulations to Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami (Maui Gold vendor Tambara Garrick said the mayor dropped by in his paniolo gear on the way to the Keiki and High School benefit rodeo!) and Lt. Gov. Sylvia Luke for getting those nine Maui Nui vendors to join the Kukui Grove vendors and Kaua‘i Made vendors (they’ve got the Holly Jolly event coming up on Dec. 9 at Sheraton Kaua‘i at Coconut Beach!) for Small Business Saturday.
And, kudos, Rob Nelson and the Garden Isle Racing Association motorcycle riders on making a big splash with Capt. Rod Green (he wants to go to the 2024 GIRA year-ender) and Barbara Gusman (yes, she was helping provide Thanksgiving meals to eastside first responders with the Sheraton Kaua‘i Coconut Beach ‘ohana!) on launching this year’s Toys for Tots campaign on Saturday at Kaua‘i Veterans Center where Debbie Yanagihara was hosting more than 40 vendors, including the Menehune Quilters (how about a Catnip Mouse, or a bag with a cat) and The Sugar Gallery.
