LIHU‘E — A number of post-holiday projects along local roads are scheduled this week with the most acitivity in Lihu‘e, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in its weekly update.
The following is a list of project on tap for the workweek ending Dec. 1. All work is weather permitting.
Hanalei
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible for grass cutting along banks and guardrails in either direction, between mile post 5.5 and 7, beginning Monday, Nov. 27, through Thursday, Nov. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kealia
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for clearing of guardrails, slopes and grass cutting in either direction, between mile post 10 and 11.5, on Monday, Nov. 27, through Thursday, Nov. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Koloa
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for installation of reflective pavement markers on the travel way edge and center line in either direction between mile post 5 and 6 beginning Monday, Nov. 27, through Friday, Dec. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Lihu‘e
A right lane closure on Wa‘apa Road (Route 51) is possible for grass cutting in the northbound direction between mile post 0 and 0.9, in the vicinity of Kailikea Street and Kapule Highway, beginning Monday, Nov. 27, through Friday, Dec. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for grass cutting.
A single lane shift on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for sidewalk installation in the northbound direction between mile post 0.7 and 2.5, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, beginning Monday, Nov. 27, through Friday, Dec. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A right lane closure on Nawiliwili Road (Route 58) is possible for grass cutting in either direction between mile post 0 and 1.5, in the vicinity of Wa‘apa Road and Pua Kea Golf Course, beginning Monday, Nov. 27, through Friday, Dec. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Oma‘o
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for shoulder grading in either direction between mile post 8.5 to 10, in the vicinity of Maha Road and Akemama Road, on Monday, Nov. 27, through Friday, Dec. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Princeville
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible for debris removal and hauling of slope material in the eastbound direction between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Monday, Nov. 27, through Friday, Dec. 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic will be alternating through the open lane.
