LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football League announced the annual Shrine Bowl games will take place on Nov. 26.
Traditionally, this annual football game features participants in the 12 and Under and the 14 and Under divisions, who are divided to form East and West teams to play each other.
The 12 and Under division teams will kick off at 10 a.m. for a full four-quarter contest. The 14 and Under teams will kick off starting at 12:15 p.m.
Additionally, the proceeds from the Shrine Game will benefit the Shrine Club and its Shriner’s Hospital.
Following the final season contests contested at Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex on Sunday, KPWFL released the final division standings that include the Flag, 9U, 10U, 12U, and 14U divisions.
The rebranded Lihu‘e Patriots finished the season with two first place standings in the 9U and the 12U divisions, and a three-way tie for first in the Flag division.
Kekaha No. 1, Lihu‘e, and Hanapepe No. 1 each finished with a 4-win, 1-loss records. The three-way tie for the lead is followed by Kapa‘a (2-3), Hanapepe No. 2 (1-4), and Kekaha No. 2 (0-5).
Lihu‘e Patriots 9U team finished the season with a 5-win, 0-loss, and 1-tie record against the Kapa‘a Eagles (0-5-1). The top spot on Kaua‘i will send the Patriots to Maui for the D-3 Championship, which will be played on Maui on Nov. 24 and 25.
The Hanapepe Colts topped the 10U division with a 5-1 record over Kekaha (1-5). The Lihu‘e Patriots were one-loss shy of a perfect season in the 12U division after dropping its contest to the Hanapepe Colts on Sunday.
Lihu‘e finished with a 8-1 record, followed by Hanapepe with a 7-2 standing. Kekaha Titans finished the division 2-2. The Kapa‘a Eagles rounded out the scoreboard with a 1-8 record.
The Eagles topped the 14U division with a 5-1 record, followed by Lihu‘e with a 3-3 standing. Kekaha rounded out the leaderboard with a 1-5 record.
