Tickets are available online at www.GoFan.co/hhsaa. Waimea High School, the defending HHSAA Div. II champion, had an opening round bye.
Tickets for the Division I semifinal game between No. 5 seed Kapa‘a High School and top seed Konawaena High School in the Big Island on Saturday are also available on the same website.
Kapa‘a advanced to the semifinal game with a comeback win over No. 4 seed Lahainaluna, 29-28, in Lahaina on Saturday night.
With less than a minute on the game clock in Maui, Kapa‘a quarterback Kapono Na-O found Evan Daligdig at the end of a 48-yard pass with 46.3 seconds showing. A subsequent two-point conversion by Na-O sealed the win, according to ScoringLive.com data.
Tickets for that thrilling win were sold out a few days before the exciting encounter on Maui where, in addition to the pivotal two-point conversion, Na-O engineered four Kapa‘a TDs by capping scoring drives on runs of 48 yards, 1 yard and 3 yards before the touchdown pass to Daligdig.
Na-O finished the contest with three completed passes for 95 yards and no interceptions. He also rushed for 159 yards on 24 carries.
Roosevelt advanced to the semifinal game with a comeback 19-14 victory over No. Kamehamea Schools-Hawai‘i at the Rough Riders’ field on O‘ahu.
Similar to Kapa‘a, the Rough Riders scored in the final three minutes of play on a 78-yard pass play from QB Ioane Kamanao to Jahsiah Souza-Armstead. The two-point conversion failed.
