LIHU‘E — A number of roadwork projects are slated for the upcoming week with grass cutting and trimming at several locations, the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation said in a weekly update.
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Nov. 17. The scheduled work is weather permitting.
Hanapepe
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for guardrail grass trimming in either direction between Lele Road and Russian Fort Elizabeth on Monday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Kalihiwai
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for grass cutting in either direction between Kalihiwai Road and Princeville Airport on Monday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kapa‘a
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for utility work in the southbound direction in the vicinity of Kawaihau Road on Tuesday, Nov. 14, and Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Kealia
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for grass cutting in either direction, between mile post 11 and 12, in the vicinity of Kapolil Street and Kukuihale Road, on Monday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Oma‘o
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for shoulder cleaning in either direction between Oma‘o Road and Halewili Road on Monday, Nov. 13 through Friday, Nov. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Princeville
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible for debris removal and hauling of slope material in the eastbound direction between Hanalei Plantation Road and Ohiki Road, on Monday, Nov. 13, and Friday, Nov. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Traffic will be alternating in the open lane.
Puhi
A right shoulder closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for installation of temporary pavement markings and excavation of shoulder in the eastbound direction between Anonui Street and Kipu Road on Monday, Nov. 13, through Friday, Nov. 17, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

It’d be really nice if DOTH would clear all the overgrowth on the mauka/south-bound shoulder of Kuhio Highway from South Leho Road up to Nukolii.
