HONOLULU — Skye Tadani, of Kapa‘a High School, the top Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation female individualist, sat in fifth place overall following the first day of the 2023 Hawai‘i Army National Guard Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association Bowling Championship at Schofield Bowling Center on O‘ahu.
HONOLULU — Skye Tadani, of Kapa‘a High School, the top Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation female individualist, sat in fifth place overall following the first day of the 2023 Hawai‘i Army National Guard Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association Bowling Championship at Schofield Bowling Center on O‘ahu.
Tadani held an 859 pinfall following two sets. Following the second day’s roll, Tadani finished the state bowling tournament with a 1,323 pinfall to tie with Caytlen Oishi-Gascon of Moanalua High School for 11th place and a state medal.
That proved to be the KIF’s only medal, as the KIF boys’ best showing came from Kaua‘i High School’s Aaron Juliano, who finished the two-day state tournament with a 1,372 pinfall for 23rd place.
Juliano’s results paced the Kaua‘i High School boys team to a fifth place finish after the Red Raiders posted a 6,375 pinfall in the match where Hawai‘i Baptist Academy boys rolled a combined 7,111 to earn first place medals.
Kaua‘i High School girls team’s Mikayla Pacheco-Villanueva rolled a two-day 1,185 pinfall to lead the Red Raiders girls team to a seventh place finish with a 4,998 pinfall. The Pearl City High School girls team finished tops in that division of bowling with a 6,579 pinfall.
