HONOLULU — The Kapa‘a High School girls volleyball team, earning the Central Pacific Bank Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation title on Monday night, is the No. 5 seed in the New City Nissan Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association (HHSAA) Division II Volleyball State Tournament.
HONOLULU — The Kapa‘a High School girls volleyball team, earning the Central Pacific Bank Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation title on Monday night, is the No. 5 seed in the New City Nissan Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association (HHSAA) Division II Volleyball State Tournament.
The No. 5 seed means Kapa‘a will be action on Tuesday when DII play opens against the Hawai‘i Baptist Academy starting at 7 p.m. at Kalani High School. The HHSAA announced the seedings on Wednesday.
If successful in the opening round, the Lady Warriors would advance to face No. 4 seed Hawai‘i Preparatory Academy on Nov. 8, starting at 5 p.m. at Kalani High School.
Top seed for Division II was assigned to the Mid Pacific Institute Owls with the Waialua High School team getting the No. 2 seed. Seabury Hall of the Maui Interscholastic League (MIL) earned the No. 3 seed.
All of the top four seeds enjoy an opening round bye and will be in action starting Nov. 8 at either Kalani High School or Kaimuki High School.
Participating schools in addition to the top five seeds include Waipahu High School, Maui Preparatory, Kau High School, Damien High School, the University Lab School and Konawaena High School of the Big Island Interscholastic Federation.
The championship contest for Division II will take place on Nov. 11 at Cannon Activities Center on the campus of Brigham Young University-Hawai‘i.
Kamehameha Schools-Kapalama earned the No. 1 seed for Division I play with Kamehameha Schools-Hawai‘i getting the No. 2 seed position over No. 3 seed Mililani High School. Baldwin High School of the MIL is the No. 4 seed.
Other participating schools in Division I play include Moanalua High School, Kalani High School, Waiakea High School, Kapolei High School, Kamehameha Schools-Maui, Roosevelt High School, Punahou School and Kahuku High School.
