NAWILIWILI — A stretch of road that leads motorists to Nawiliwili Harbor is going get a little more difficult to traverse through the Thanksgiving holiday.
The County of Kaua‘i Department of Public Works said Tuesday that portions of Hulemalu Road in Nawiliwili are subject to full closures from Nov. 2 to Nov. 24 during weekdays. The closures are needed for road resurfacing work.
“Temporary full road closure will be necessary for portions of this repair. When possible, one lane will remain open to accommodate alternating traffic in both directions. Access will be provided for residents in the area,” the Department of Public Works said.
“Please make the appropriate arrangements to accommodate the necessary road closures, use alternate routes, and allow extra time to get to destinations. During this time, no parking will be allowed in the work zones. Flaggers will be positioned at the work zone to direct traffic.”
For more information or questions, people are directed to contact the job’s contractor, Maui Kupono Builders, at 808-369-1800, or Todd Ozaki at the County of Kauai at 808-241-4845.
