And, you thought everything was going to quiet down (lost track of how many people said “Happy Holidays!” at the Ace Hardware Craft Fair on Saturday at the convention hall) after Halloween?

Alden Pablo of the Hanapepe Pop Warner Association announced “Kaua‘i’s Biggest Little Carnival” this weekend (Saturday and Sunday!) at Hanapepe Stadium to benefit both the Pop Warner association and the community baseball teams … guess this means the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football League games will be at Hanapepe Stadium on Sunday.
Mary Kay Hertog of the Kaua‘i Veterans Council reminds everyone that Kaua‘i Veterans Celebration takes place on Saturday on the lawn of the Historic County Building so all of the veterans can attend and watch the 2023 Miss Kaua‘i Veteran Mya Quarles (she’s a Waimea High School student) … watch out, Lexi Jones (she was busy as a track star during the Rice Street Block Party where Bev Brody of Get Fit Kaua‘i didn’t need an alarm to watch the Aloha Dance Studio zombies — they were busy at the Kukui Grove Center Halloween Festival and Costume Contest, too).
Congratulations to Kaua‘i High School football coach Mel Purcell on the Red Raiders’ first season win (14-7 against Waimea High School) on Saturday where Waimea High School principal Mahina Anguay (and Coach Leo Anguay) were busy distributing fliers reminding Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation fans to be on their best behavior … yes, Teddy Arroyo said we’ve got the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association, Division II (Waimea High School is the top seed) semifinals scheduled to play on Kaua‘i.
In the meantime, Monday is the Central Pacific Bank KIF girls volleyball championships starting at 6:30 p.m. at Bernice Hundley Gym in Kapa‘a … Waimea volleyball’s Tori Kagawa (she was getting Stan’s Flying Saucers at the Rice Street Block Party after broiling at the football game) is planning to drive in from the westside for that event.
