Following are this week’s synopses of shows on KBFD TV, which televises Korean dramas with English subtitles.
Weekly Update
The year marks the 120th Korean Immigration to Hawaii and the 70th anniversary of the Korea-U.S. Alliance. To culminate the yearlong celebration, KBFD will be broadcasting a special documentary every Saturday starting on Nov. 4 at 6:30 p.m. till end of the year.
The documentary covers several topics from early Korean immigrant life — the fight for Korean independence, K-food, Hangeul, Korean entertainment and Pansori. As generations move on, the unique stories passed from generation to generation are fading away.
We feel the urgency to document and produce programming for future generations before the stories are forgotten.
