LIHU‘E — October is Domestic Violence Awareness month.
During the Week of Action, which is Oct. 17 through 23, the community has an opportunity to learn more about domestic violence and remember and honor victims of domestic violence in Hawai‘i during the Candlelight Vigil that will take place on Oct. 19 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at St. Michael’s and All Angels Episcopal Church.
The candlelight vigil, tying in with this year’s national campaign theme, #Every1KnowsSome1, will feature survivor stories and a candle lighting ceremony during the evening of reflection and solidarity presented by the YWCA of Kaua‘i.
Guest speakers at the vigil will be Dr. Nikki Cristobal, Megan Kealoha Wong and an additional survivor speaker.
Child care and refreshments will be provided.
