LIHU‘E — Grass cutting, paving and striping work top the list of ongoing projects on islands roads this week, according to a weekly update from the Hawai‘i Department of Transportation.
The following is a list of projects scheduled for the workweek ending Oct. 20. Roadwork, as per usual, is weather permitting.
‘Ele‘ele
A single lane closure on Halewili Road (Route 540) is possible to refresh and restripe yellow marker tape in either direction between mile marker 3.8, in the vicinity of Kaumuali‘i Highway, on Tuesday, Oct. 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Hanamaulu
A lane shift on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for sidewalk installation in the northbound direction between mile marker 0.78 and 2.58, in the vicinity of Kuene Road and Kapule Highway, beginning Monday, Oct. 16, through Friday, Oct. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Kalaheo
A single lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for shoulder clearing and debris removal in the westbound direction, between mile marker 11 and 12, in the vicinity of Lauoho Road, on Wednesday, Oct. 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m..
A right lane closure on Kaumuali‘i Highway (Route 50) is possible for grass cutting in either direction, between mile marker 13 and 16, in the vicinity of ‘Ele‘ele Road, on Monday, Oct. 16, through Friday, Oct. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Kealia
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for paving and striping work in either direction between mile marker 9.8 and 15.1, in the vicinity of Mailihuna Road and Aliomanu Road, beginning Monday, Oct. 16, through Friday, Oct. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) is possible for grass cutting in either direction between mile marker 10 and 13, in the vicinity of Kealia Beach Park and Kukuihale Road, on Monday, Oct. 16, through Friday, Oct. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Princeville
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible for grass cutting in either direction, between mile marker 26 and 28, in the vicinity of the Princeville Golf Club and Ka Haku Road, from Monday, Oct. 16, through Friday, Oct. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Wainiha
A single lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible for slope stabilization in the mauka lane (mountain side) between mile marker 0 and 7, in the vicinity of Ka Haku Road and Wainiha Powerhouse Road on Monday, Oct. 16, through Friday Oct. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will also be short intermittent full closures of Kuhio Highway. Traffic in both directions will be maintained by contraflow.
A right lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) is possible for grass cutting in either direction, between mile marker 7 and 9, in the vicinity of Haena Beach Park, beginning Monday, Oct. 16, through Friday, Oct. 20, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
