LIHU‘E — COVID-19 vaccines and self-test kits will be available on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Kauai Philippine Cultural Center.
The free event is being hosted by the Kaua‘i Economic Opportunity (KEO) Health Equity in COVID-19 Prevention and Mitigation Project, which is inviting individuals and families to challenge COVID-19.
In addition to the COVID-19 vaccines, flu shots and other vaccines will also be available at the event where resources will be available for individuals build a healthy lifestyle while having fun.
Narcan, the life-saving aid for opioid overdosing, education and kit distributions will also be available along with free blood pressure and diabetic risk screening. Free vision screening and body mass index will also be available in addition to other health and wellness resources.
Individuals who preregistered with KEO’s Rebecca Carnate can earn their certifications for First Aid, AED, CPR training while enjoying food demonstrations and other activities for children, youth and adults.
Medical doctor Dr. Kapono Chong Hanssen of Ho‘ola Lahui Hawai‘i will be the keynote speaker.
