But that was not good enough to push the Lady Warriors into the winner’s circle, as the Kaua‘i High School girls rolled consistently in the high 100s to secure the day’s win with a 2,172 pinfall.
Kapa‘a girls finished second with a 2,042 pinfall, followed by the Waimea girls with a 1,827 pinfall for third place.
With just two more matches remaining, Kaua‘i High School girls are in the lead with 11 points, followed by Kapa‘a girls at eight points and the Menehune ladies with five points.
On the boys lanes, Kaua‘i’s Trestyn Reis rolled a day’s high 234. Aaron Juliano finished with 200 to lead the Kaua‘i boys to a 2,448 pinfall and first place honors.
Kapa‘a boys’ William Kimura finished with a high roll of 228 to lead the Kapa‘a boys to a 2,239 pinfall and second place on the day.
Richard Palacio of Waimea High School boys dropped to 190 for Week 3 to lead the Menehune to a 2,017 pinfall.
Overall, the Kaua‘i boys lead the standings at 11 points with two more matches coming up. Kapa‘a boys are chasing two points back at 9 points and the Waimea boys are at 4 points.
The KIF Bowling series continues on Thursday at Kaua‘i Bowl, when the warmups finish at 4:30 p.m.
