Glenn Sakahara
Glenn Sakahara, age 78, native of Wailua, and former resident of Honolulu and Midway Island, passed away on May 12, 2023, in Bangor, Maine. Glenn worked at the DoD Schools in Kadena, Okinawa, and spent his last 29 years in Abbott and Guilford, Maine. He enjoyed a lifetime of baseball and golfing achievements and time spent coaching his students.
He is survived by his wife Katheryn (Roberts), his mother Asayo, brother Howard, sister Melanie, several nieces and nephews.
Kith ‘Nalu’ Silva-Lacro
Nalu passed away on Sept. 7, 2023, at the age of 28 years old, in Lihu‘e, Kaua‘i. He was born in Waimea, Kaua‘i, on Dec. 1, 1994. Nalu was an amazing person who loved hunting, fishing, and worked with Gill Construction Company. He had a contagious smile and was always there to help others. He’ll be deeply missed by his family and everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by father Edward Lacro, maternal grandparents Paul P. Sr. and Helen Silva, uncles Noland Silva, Orlie Kimble, Joseph Grace, paternal grandparents Vicente and Teodora Lacro.
He is survived by mother Paula Bacio, sisters Phrystal Bacio, Larlyn (David) Fitzpatrick, Laynette (Tim) Parbo, Leslie Lacro, Leilan Kolaski, brothers Lyman (Erika) Lacro, Chad (Amberlynn) Rita, Chaz Rita, numerous, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Minako Rabasa
Minako Rabasa passed away peacefully at home on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023, at the age of 87. Minako was born May 17, 1936, in Japan. She was a retired Army veteran wife having lived in Germany, Africa, Korea, Okinawa, New Jersey, Kansas, Pennsylvania, Texas, Arizona to finally settle to Hawai‘i.
Preceded in death by husband Juan “Johnny” Rabasa, parents Bunkichi Hattori, Yukio Izumida, brothers Takeo Hattori, Shigeo Hattori and Mitsuo Hattori.
Minako is survived by daughter Shirley Dennis of Tulsa, Oklahoma, sons John (Anne) Rabasa of Santa Clara, California, Jimmy Rabasa of Lihu‘e, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great- grandchild, sisters Ayako, Sumiko, Keiko, brothers Isao, Katsuo, Sueo, along with many other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Minako’s life will be held on Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center in Lihu‘e.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Rabasa family with arrangements.
Eula Haulani Holt Sablan
Eula Haulani Holt Sablan, of Anahola, passed away on Sept. 15, 2023, at her home at the age of 84. She was born on Aug. 13, 1939, in Waimea, Kaua‘i.
She was preceded in death by husband Leonard Sablan, parents Bennett Holt Sr. and Annie Mabel Roberts, grandchildren Shane Kaleo Iniki Fernandez and baby Paul, siblings Bennett Holt Jr., Ronnie Holt Sr., Annette Spencer and Hattet Lihue Miller.
She is survived by sons Sheldon (Karrie) Fernandez of Saipan, Shane (Casidee) Fernandez of Kekaha, Ross (Faye) Fernandez of Kekaha, daughters Eula Ann (Moses) Miyashiro of Anahola, Annette (Robert) Fernandez-Ventura of Kalaheo, Patricia (David Duenas) Fernandez of Saipan, 23 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, brothers Richard Waalani Sr. of Kaua‘i, Norman Holt Sr. of Kaua‘i, James Anakalea of Kaua‘i, sister Wanda Aki of Anahola, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at St. Theresa Church in Kekaha on Oct. 7, 2023. Public visitation is from 9 to 10 a.m. with Mass to follow. The family requests aloha attire and welcomes flowers.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
