NAWILIWILI — TropiCats, Kaua‘i’s first-ever cat cafe, is scheduled to hold its grand opening on Friday at the Harbor Mall shopping center.
“The grand opening of TropiCats is exciting, and we are thrilled to offer a one-of-a-kind experience where people can relax, connect with cats, and potentially give these adorable felines a forever home,” said TropiCats co-owner Tanya Ramseth.
Open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays through Sundays, TropiCats is not just a snack shop. It is a paradise for cat enthusiasts where visitors are able to enjoy a refreshing beverage and snack while spending quality time with adorable, adoptable cats in a comfortable and cat-friendly environment.
The TropiCats announcement states the cat cafe provides a tropical setting for the adoptable cats, complete with palm trees, play areas and lots of toys.
“We’ve worked diligently to create a safe and enjoyable space for both cats and humans,” said Nicole Schafer, TropiCats co-owner. “Our mission is to provide a fun atmosphere and promote cat adoptions, helping the Kaua‘i Humane Society increase adoptions and decrease the burden on the shelter. All of the cats at TropiCats are being fostered through the Kaua‘i Humane Society.”
Visitors to TropiCats can expect a variety of cold beverages, including coffees, kombuchas and juices along with a diverse group of friendly and sociable cats — all available for adoption.
TropiCats provides a welcoming environment where guests can read, color, work or simply relax. Additionally, cat-themed merchandise and products are available for purchase.
TropiCats also offers opportunities to book birthday parties, staff meetings or simply a place for date night. Guests are invited to book their hour of feline fun online at www.TropiCatsKauai.com or walk in.
