Irene Satsuki Cabral
Irene Satsuki Cabral, 98, of Kalaheo, passed away at Hale Kapuna Heritage Home on Aug. 12, 2023. She was born on Kaua‘i on May 12, 1925, and retired as a registered nurse with Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded death by husband Norman S. Cabral, granddaughter Allison Cabral, sisters Masami Baptiste. Laura Fujii and brothers Kiyoji Fujii, Albert S. Fujii and Donald T. Fujii.
Irene is survived by children Arnold R. (Beverly) Cabral, Patricia L. (Rodney) Yama, Norman P. (Sandra) Cabral, seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters Susan Nakamura, Frances Kaneshige, Lorraine Fujii, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services were held. The family graciously declines any koden (monetary gifts).
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Carol E. Seshiki
Carol E. Seshiki, of Kapa‘a, passed away on Aug. 27, 2023, at Wilcox Medical Center at the age of 85. She was born on Feb. 18, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois. She was a retired nurse.
She was preceded in death by husband Richard Seshiki, son Clayton “Butch” Shiboo, grandson Dylan Kuwamura and parents Larry and Sue Brady.
She is survived by daughters Gina (Roddy) Kaulukukui, Laurie (Sherri) Shiboo, Lisa (Pauly) Kuwamura, five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A service will be held on Sunday, Sept. 24, at the Anahola Club House. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at 11 a.m.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
