Auri Oshiro (she was helping mom Cher on Saturday during the pop-up at Kukui Grove Center) said Halloween is her favorite time of the year because of all the candy. She was dressed up in her costume that matched the Halloween-themed storefront at Small Fry.

Kaua‘i High School cross-country (Great job with the preseason match, Island School ‘ohana!) coach Fred Sasan (he was helping at the Special Olympics “Badges and Buckets” fundraiser, too) stopped by to talk with James Yamamoto at the Kaua‘i Ocean Discovery about his whale experience during the Sasons’ Alaska Cruise. Congratulations to the Kaua‘i High School boys, and Island School girls on taking the preseason races, now off to lunch with Barbara Oki.
Great job with the art entry days. First there was the Hawai‘i Craftsmen Annual Statewide Exhibition event on Friday with Shannon Hiramoto, who got help from Bon Moore. Then Roseanne Jones and Kaua‘i Society of Artists President Renee Palmer (she was getting worried because it was not busy, early) hosted the Art Kaua‘i 2023 event on Saturday for the show that opens on Sept. 16 and runs through Oct. 27. An artists’ reception will be held on Sept. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. (always a great event) to kick off the show.
OK, time to go check out the 9/11 National Day of Service at the Kukui Grove Center from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
