Saturday’s varsity football game canceled

KAPA‘A — The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation announced on Wednesday that the varsity football game between Kapa‘a High and Kaua‘i High, scheduled to play Saturday at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapa‘a, has been canceled.

According to Greg Gonsalves, the Kapa‘a High athletic director, the junior varsity contest will play at its regularly scheduled 4 p.m. kickoff time.

The KIF offered no reason for the varsity contest cancellation, or if the game would be rescheduled in the future.

Maui disaster. They’re honoring them. But they have school in Maui. Just the athletics. No games.
