Happy retirement, Eileen Naka‘ahiki, following 45 years of providing nursing skills to the community. Stephanie Iona (she was even a patient of Eileen’s) said Eileen was a nurse with Wilcox Hospital for 14 years before ending 31 years at Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waimea.

Eileen said she didn’t want any of the hoopla, so leave it up to daughter Chandra to come up with a fancy plan to get Eileen to stop by the hospital after she took a vacation day.
Congratulations, Chris Jordan and the OZone crew (it’s a good thing Jim Saylor is traveling, or this might’ve been heading his way) for winning the Nawiliwili Yacht Club Short Series. OZone made it the hard way by winning the final race to tie with Bonjolea II, and took the series by the ruling of the winner of the last race as the tie-breaker.
OK, this is the long Labor Day weekend. The Kaua‘i Marathon will launch on the Southshore (check out those traffic advisories on thekauaimarathon.com so you can plan accordingly), early Sunday morning. Koloa Landing Resort is going to be popping with excitement at the marathon finish.
Stay safe!
