Kudos, Representative Jill Tokuda, Hawai‘i District 2, and her staff (David Taga was a fill-in for the Big Island staffer) on hosting the Tokuda In Your Town event that allowed people, who were unable to participate in the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce luncheon with the congresswoman. The event gave people an opportunity to meet and discuss their individual concerns with federal government matters, and issues beside the Maui disaster.

Kudos, too, Lori Almarza and the Kaua‘i United Way ‘ohana for not forgetting the other people who struggled through life, and live here on Kaua‘i every day. Makani Taniguchi of the Kaua‘i Island Utility Cooperative has no doubt we can meet the $600,000 2023 Campaign goal, and mahalo to Patrick Ono and Matson Navigation for the ‘small kine’ first step toward meeting the goal that enables the Kaua‘i United Way’s network of partners to provide the services that many people need to survive.
OK, don’t forget the Memory Keepers’ rummage sale that benefits the Alzheimer’s Association (there’s still time to sign up for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and all that Arnold Leong Fah Inn grinds) that takes place at the Lihu‘e Neighborhood Center from 8 a.m. to noon. And, not to worry because Nataliearth checked, and the Wailua Bay Creators Fair is next Sunday, Aug. 27 (not this Sunday) at the Hilton Garden Inn.
