LIHU‘E — The golf team consisting of Taylor Shigemoto, Arthur Chow and Randall Bolosan piled up a net score of 62.2 to win the grand prize of the Contractors Association of Kaua‘i 30th Scholarship Golf Tournament played on Aug. 12 at the Puakea Golf Course.
LIHU‘E — The golf team consisting of Taylor Shigemoto, Arthur Chow and Randall Bolosan piled up a net score of 62.2 to win the grand prize of the Contractors Association of Kaua‘i 30th Scholarship Golf Tournament played on Aug. 12 at the Puakea Golf Course.
The win was determined by going outside to have numbers pulled for the place awards, a difference from the traditional place prizes.
Byron Ariola, Scott Smith and Kalani Miyashiro, finishing in 25th place, was determined the fourth place award winner, and the team of Greg Kenney, Oscar Sagucio and Scott Eichelberg earned the fifth place award.
The sixth place award was presented to the team of Bryson Poai, Roven Poai and Jacob Galindo after the trio finished in 21st place overall.
The 30th anniversary prize was earned by the team of Fred Pascual, Teddie Kashima and Mario Longboy after the trio turned in a net score of 67.9. Low net were the team of Darran Toyofuku, T-Jay Shigemoto and Timmy Perreira that finished with a 54.8 team score.
A portion of the 30th golf tournament proceeds will help fund the 2024 CAK scholarship program.
During the 2022 tournament, proceeds helped provide scholarships for Destrey Shibuya, a junior civil engineering major at the University of Hawai‘i at Manoa; Julia Safford, a junior civil engineering major at Saint Mary’s College; Kailee Oyama, a sophomore civil engineering major at Santa Clara University; and Kailash Letman, a sophomore architecture major at Whitworth Institute of Technology.
