The American Cancer Society Relay For Life takes place on Saturday from 4 p.m. at the north Vidinha Stadium soccer fields in Lihu‘e, where everyone is invited to come and support the American Cancer Society’s fight against cancer by meeting and cheering on cancer survivors during the Survivors’ Walk, remembering those who didn’t make it by donating for a luminaria, and supporting the fight by patronizing some of the many supporter camps and their ono food offerings while walking around the circle of luminaria. No worries, there is no minimum number of laps required.

For those needing an answer to the travel bug, the Hawai‘i Made Festival takes place this weekend from Aug. 18-20 at the Hawai‘i Convention Center on O‘ahu (get your tickets online for best service). Salty Wahine said new for this year’s show are sections by island. Kudos to the county Office of Economic Development and the 11 vendors who will represent the Garden Island, including Salty Wahine. Mailelani’s said they’re bringing the little one to work the booth so they can shop.
Others representing Kaua‘i include Weslyn’s Creative Feathers, Kaua‘i Kookie (yeah, Mabel and Norman Hashisaka were both at the Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort &Spa bon dance in Po‘ipu!), Tiki Pet Collars, Kilohana Clothing (are any of the gently-used shirts going?), ‘Aina Organic, Pele Jele, JJ ‘Ohana, Puahina and Kaua‘i Hemp.
