LIHU‘E — U.S. Rep. Jill Tokuda will host “Tokuda in Your Town” from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Lihu‘e Public Library on Aug. 17.
The event is intended to be a mobile way, or satellite office, for Kaua‘i residents to get a hold of the congresswoman without having to attend events that can be costly or inconveniently timed.
Tokuda in Your Town is specifically designed for individuals who need support with immigration, passports, veterans benefits and other assistance with federal agencies.

This will be on Thursday. She’s here on Kaua’i. What’s wrong with all the others in politics? Weren’t they good enough to help out? Or know the procedures. I’m not much of a politics fan now that the political arena has not taken the blame for the Maui disaster. If they had good leaders there, they could have fought the fire. But that’s life. I don’t know much about Jill Tokuda’s job, but if this is one of her duties, good luck in getting a pay. I don’t know how much but this sounds like interesting work.
