Chargers overpower Raiders, 42-14
Working under first-year coach Mel Purcell, the Kaua‘i High School Red Raiders were able to score in the first and last quarters during its nonleague outing against Pearl City High School on Saturday night in a live-streamed football contest on O‘ahu. However, the Red Raiders came up way short, 42-14.
Waimea-King Kekaulike football game canceled
The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation announced on Saturday that the preseason football game on Aug. 19 has been canceled between Maui’s King Kekaulike High School visiting Hanapepe Stadium for a game against Waimea High School.

There was no hesitancy on the part of the bon dance spectator on Friday evening, as Grand Hyatt Kaua‘i Resort & Spa General Manager Michael Murphy announced that proceeds from the bon dance will go to help its sister properties on Maui.
