PO‘IPU — Roux Ridings of Lihu‘e and Graham Morgan of Kilauea were the two Kaua‘i winners following the 36-hole Hawai‘i State Junior Golf Association/First Tee Po‘ipu Bay Junior Classic that wrapped up on Sunday at Po‘ipu Bay Golf Course.
Roux, playing with two other Kaua‘i golfers in the Boys 7-10 Flight, finished the first 18 holes tied with Ike Tydingco at 94 each. On the second 18 holes that was played on Sunday, Roux pulled ahead with an 86 to Ike’s 100 to win the flight by 14 strokes.
Morgan, playing in the Boys 13-14 Flight, set the pace for the four-player field by carding the lowest scores of the two tournament rounds. He captured the flight on a 154, 14 strokes better than fellow Kaua‘i golfer Renyn Lee of Kapa‘a, who finished with a 168.
Royal Ridings of Lihu‘e, playing in the Boys 11-12 Flight, finished in second place with a two-day 179. That was well ahead of third place finisher Ayven Labuguen of Kapa‘a, who ended with a 197.

Playing under what the HSJGA/FTH described as “perfect weather and playing conditions,” the Po‘ipu Bay Classic awards points for the HSJGA/FTH Player of the Year, and the season race to the coveted HSJGA/FTH Tour Championship on Maui at Wailea Gold Golf Course in December.
This is an event that is by invitation to top finishers on the HSJGA/FTH Points List throughout the season.
