Thursday is also Boat Day as a “Scenic Tours” quick tent popped up near the stage (how do boat passengers get to the shopping center?) that quickly had an audience who got to enjoy the Ron Toki sounds as a side benefit … now, what happens on all the other Thursdays?
Skylar Stewart got a second chance to thank the Zonta Club of Kaua‘i on Thursday during the Zonta Club’s regular meeting (Regina Carvalho said the Status of Women Committee is hosting a cancer awareness walk on Oct., 2 starting with a meaningful agenda at 11:30 a.m. at the Mo‘ikeha Building) when she got to accept her $4,000 scholarship.
Kudos to Randy Francisco, the Kaua‘i Philippines Cultural Center and Kaua‘i Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami for launching a relief fundraiser for people in the Philippines, who were impacted by Super Typhoon Egay that affected Northern Luzon where three of Kaua‘i’s sister cities are located.
