This is it, the big parade and park celebration that wraps up the 2023 Koloa Plantation Days. Gates to the park celebration open at 9 a.m. when the traffic advisories go into effect, and the parade (is Dickie Chang and Julie Souza emcee-ing the event, again this year?) starts at 10 a.m. from the Koloa Elementary School where the dragon from this year’s Pride parade sits next to the house across the entrance to the Koloa Public Library.

And on Sunday, the Koloa Union Church celebrates its 100th anniversary after being the grand marshal in the Koloa Plantation Days historic parade.
Sunday is also the Breast Cancer Awareness Ladies Soccer Event 2023 benefiting the American Cancer Society and the Relay for Life that is going to have the luminaria on the field at the North Vidinha on Aug. 19
Kudos Arryl Kaneshiro and his hard- working Koloa Plantation Days committee for putting together so many events that trigger memories in the minds of longtime Kaua‘i families, and mahalo to all the visiting people who add their personal connection to Hawai‘i’s historic plantation days era … we’re all in this, together!
OK, time to get ready for the Heiva I Kaua‘i that happens Saturday, Aug. 5, and Sunday, Aug. 6, at Kapa‘a Beach Park.
