OK, it’s time for the Koloa Plantation Days historic parade (Happy 100th Anniversary, Koloa Union Church, which serves as the parade grand marshall!), and figuring out how to get there with all the traffic closures (how long did it take to get to Koloa last Friday?).

If you can get there before the closures, the park (Anne S. Knudsen Park, that is) gets underway about the time the traffic closures take place. Melissia Sugai said there’re about two dozen Kaua‘i Made vendors participating), and Shauna Tafiti said they’ll (the late Joe Grace and Tafiti ‘ohana) have the Joe Grace special because that’s something he always liked to do.
Unfortunately, Stephanie Iona won’t be able to make it because University of Hawai‘i basketball coach Eran Ganot and the team have a small window for their clinic before getting to Japan.
And, don’t forget, Sunday is the Breast Cancer Awareness Ladies Soccer Event fundraiser hosted by Emily Ishida-Medeiros that starts at 3 p.m. and benefits the American Cancer Society and the Kaua‘i Relay For Life that’s scheduled for Aug. 19 from 4 to 10 p.m. at the Vidinha Stadium north soccer fields in Lihu‘e.
