Kudos, too, to Edwin Vea (he was busy holding down tents in the wind ahead of the Calvin weather event) and The Beach House crew on hosting its monthly craft fair in Kukui‘ula on Saturday ahead of the busy weekend at Prince Kuhio’s, when the Garden Island Boogie Board Classic takes off from Friday. Yikes, the event bangs with the popular Koloa Plantation Days mini golf tournament at the Lawa‘i Beach Resort.
Melissa McFerrin-Warrack, Arryl Kaneshiro and the Koloa Plantation Days parade said this is the first time Koloa Village shopping center is participating in the weeklong celebration by hosting a “formal” opening ceremony on Friday afternoon with Kumu Hula Leina‘ala Pavao Jardin, Ka‘eo NeSmith and Halau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala, the music group Kaua‘i Kollab and the Kaua‘i Line Dance Group (mahalo for the support of the Kaua‘i Veterans Museum, Jeffrey Callejo).
Don’t foget, we have the Keiki Bike Safety Day at Wilcox Medical Center back parking lot from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, too!
