KAPA‘A — Pearl City 50/70 pitcher Tytan Takahashi threw a complete game, 88 pitches through seven innings for the win on Monday in the Hawai‘i Little League 50/70 division state tournament that was contested at the Pony baseball field in the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex.

Competing against Central Maui that eliminated Kawaihau Community Little League with a 3-1 edge on Sunday afternoon, Takahashi picked up the victory for Pearl City by allowing two runs on one hit in the tournament that was last played about five years ago.
Takahashi also struck out eight Central Maui batters and walked just one in Pearl City’s 5-2 victory that earned Pearl City eligibility to participate in the 50/70s Regional tournament that will contest in Arizona.
Pearl City broke up a pitchers’ duel and 0-0 stalemate in the fourth frame, when Lennon Fujimori was hit by a pitch. He then scored on a passed ball with just one away.
Central Maui answered in the home half of the frame, when Caden Orikasa scored on a Pearl City miscue to deadlock the contest at 1-1.
Pearl City broke up the jam with three runs in the fifth inning. Pearl City iced the win with a run in the seventh inning, when Boston Schwager scored his second run of the game after singling to get aboard.
Trailing 4-1 in the home half of the fifth, Central Maui opened the frame when catcher Jackson Sebastian got aboard on a double before advancing on Pearl City miscues and scoring for the 4-2 deficit.
The 50/70 title match wraps up the tour of Hawai‘i Little League officials after Central Maui Seniors Division took 8-5 and 5-1 victories over Honolulu for the Seniors division state title on Sunday afternoon.
