Safety checks
Who made up that ruling, a service station person has to wait 15 minutes before he/she can inspect a vehicle for safety issues after inspecting a vehicle prior? Was it the counties or the state lawmakers?
Either we go back to the old way of getting our vehicles safety inspected or do away with the safety checks.
It is very inconsiderate for the station personnel and the customer to wait around for such a silly reason that the station personnel is doing it too fast.
Customers waiting to get their vehicle safety check have other things planned for the day and can not be waiting around.
Also, it takes away the service station personnel from his/her work in repairing a vehicle in a timely matter!
Again, get rid of the safety checks or go back to the old way!
Howard Tolbe, ‘Ele‘ele
Aloha Howard, try understand that there are people who make their livelihoods making up rules. It’s not so much the reasonable context of the rule, but that new rules are made endlessly. These people usually work for the government or are elected to public office. What we need are committees that eliminate unreasonable rules and regulations. For example, Kauai Ag Dedicaton I’m told requires minimum of 5 acres on a farm. So the neighbor with 5 acres that has 15 goats to keep his “gentleman’s farm grass “mowed” by those 15 goats. And the farmer next door with 4 1/2 acres of bananas, papayas, and dinner table vegetables; and so at 4 1/2 acres of food does not qualify for Ag Dedication. While goats require little effort compared to the food farmer’s efforts; and how many people on Kauai eat goat compared to fruits and vegetables, (hopefully organic and not sprayed with toxic chemicals). The farmer with food that 100% of the people eat must pay 10 times the property tax compared to what the goat farmer pays, to support the government people who make up the rules. It seems odd the way government works, if not sometimes insane. Mahalo.
I hear ya. But I just wanted to say that fresh killed feral goat cut into meat strips, salted and cooked over a campfire is very tasty. Did that a few times when I was a kid. (lol)
I think to now days they’ll let any service stations inspect your car. So if you’re in the profession giving out safety check stickers is not problem. Usually they look for ASE certified technicians. If not, they go by the old way of working for a living and after 25 some years in the business, they’ll allow the safety check to pass. Nobody really pays any attention to ASE certified. Really.
It seems to me like they’re lots of failure in politics. So I’ll name a few. June Jones. Ross Kagawa. Bernard Carvalho. Ron Kouchi. Mel Rapozo. All of which got voted into politics to represent the greater population. Business people included. Why wouldn’t anyone write it down here this July 4th? Now you know what they are talking about or mean? Athletics. Pop culture.
