KAPA‘A — The Kawaihau Community Little League recently named five all-star teams totaling 60 young players from all over Kaua‘i, not just the Kapa‘a area, said Roxanne Thompson of KCLL.
Coached by Kaili Panui, Keoki Planas, Makana Mardonada, Turtle Kuhaulua, Abe Kuhaulua and Chad Rita, the Minors Division All-Stars are Kholten Panui, Ike Tydingco, Waika Doctolero, Ka‘ano‘i Rita, Chayson Manintin, Kahekili Inanod, Alaka‘i Fernandez, Kilian Bernal, Bruce Taylor, Trey Largusa, Isis Basuel, Nahoa Brede, Bubba Kuhaulua and Kaikea Saiki, who will be traveling to O‘ahu for the district tournament that will contest from July 7 through 13.
The Kawaihau Community Little League 10/11 All-Stars will also travel to O‘ahu for their tournament that will contest from July 13 through 20. The team is coached by Kennison Nagahisa, Kai Lopez, Hua Wakuta and Ryan Paik. Its players are Treian Ka‘auwai, Jetsen Wakuta Jr., Isaac Lopez, Kekoa Colipani Jr., Kana‘i Kanahele, Lipoa Pu‘ulei, Naila Pimental-Nagahisa, Lamario Thomas, Paulwin David, Taijon Pimental-Nagahisa, Raiden Paik, Kaz Rosa, Judah Martin and North Krovosa.
The Kawaihau Majors Division All-Stars will host the District Tournament, with winners advancing to state play, from June 30 through July 3 at the Kawaihau Community Little League Main Diamond at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapa‘a.
The Kawaihau Majors All-Stars are coached by Chad Rita, Duke Sardinha, Tyler Hashimoto, Waylan Kupihea, Ernesto Gray and Alan Hashimoto. Its players are Kaho‘ea Nainoa Rita, Vincent Killeen, Skyler Rego, Chase Capuy-Gray, Braydon Kupihea, Kayden Graycochea, Benson Carter, Cannon Dela Cruz, Elijah Reusser, Drake Vigilia, Koali‘i Kanahele, Kalama Abreu and Idren Sardinha.
The Kawaihau Community Little League will host the 50/70 District tournament at the Pony (baseball) field in the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex from July 7 to 10, with its team coached by Christian Rosario, Ekolu Chong, Allen Mundon and Joe Wood. The all-stars include Kingston Anakalea, Alaka‘i Pigao-Mundon, Rayden Machado, Zayden Sebastian, Kaleb Panui, Kendall Gorospe Jr., Micah Hussey, Ashton Balagat, Makali‘i Chong, Kaleb Medeiros, Pierce Rosario, Drake Javier, Tavian Kaleiohi and Takasee Thomas.
The Kawaihau Senior League All-Stars will host the Senior League State Tournament on July 7-9 at the Ron Martin Field at Kapa‘a High School.
The hosting Kawaihau All Stars are coached by Aaron Kupihea and Kiko Kaneali‘i. Its team includes Kimo Kupihea, Zaedyn Tupou, Colten Banquel, Saiuela Kauvaka, Kawika Kupihea, Brennen Salazar-Bermudez, Noah Ibaan, Kamekona Thompson, Colten Delacruz, Paoa Itamura, Jacob Andres, Rylan Yamaguchi, Bryden Sugai-Salvador, Ashtin Kinimaka-Aranio and Kaitin Mundon.
