Benny Mones
Benny Mones, 97, passed away on May 23, 2023, in Lihu‘e. He was born on May 7, 1926, in the Philippines. He was a retired truck driver.
He was preceded in death by parents Juan and Francisca Mones, brother Benjamin Mones and sister Prudencia Bascos.
He is survived by wife Anastacia Mones, stepsons Dennis Peralta, Michael Chang, nephews Jimmy Mones, Ben Mones, Leo Mones and Milo Mones.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, June 22, at Immaculate Conception Church in Lihu‘e. Visitation begins at 8:30 a.m., service at 10 a.m., and burial will follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m.

Epifanio ‘Panio’ Oroc
Epifanio “Panio” Oroc, of Kekaha, passed away on May 26, 2023, at the age of 94. Born in Makaweli Camp 8 on May 31, 1928, he retired as a cultivation supervisor at Olokele Sugar Plantation.
He was predeceased by parents Gregorio and Mary Candida Oroc, sister Sr. M. Candida Oroc, OSF and son Robert Peter Oroc.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Gregoria “Jeannie” of Kekaha, children Eric (Melia) Oroc of Honolulu, Elizabeth (John) Perea of Kailua-Kona, Gregory (Rita) Oroc of Wisconsin, Stephanie (JJ) Bostick of Kekaha, 12 grandchildren Christine Oroc, Chandra Oroc, Robert Brad Oroc, Michelle Mackler, Erin Oroc, Eric Oroc, Marc Oroc, Ruben Andrian, Chelsea Oroc, Danielle Patterson, Adam Oroc, Samantha Bostick, numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 24, at Waimea Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Church from 8:30 to 10 a.m., Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by Father Edwin, and burial to follow at Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
The family requests aloha attire and welcomes flowers.

Eric Lynn Teruo Kajiwara
Eric Lynn Teruo Kajiwara, of Waimea, passed away on May 28, 2023, at the age of 69, in Waimea. He was born on Sept. 15, 1953, in Waimea. He was a primary troubleshooter.
He was preceded in death by parents Teruo and Ruth Kano Kajiwara.
He is survived by wife Jaedene Waiala Tremaine Kajiwara, son Jaime “Baba” (Lynnette) Kajiwara of Maryland, daughters Tiani (Ivan) Ruiz of Waimea, Taira “Banana” Kajiwara of Kaua‘i, grandchildren Waianuhea, Kawahinemaikalewa, Tiare, Paliku, Arte Boy and Temoana, brother Calvin (Julie) Kajiwara of Kekaha, sister Lorene (Glen “Slack”) Odo of Waimea, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A service is Saturday, June 24, at Garden Island Mortuary in Lawa‘i. Visitation is from 10 to 11 a.m. with a celebration of life to follow. The family requests casual attire and welcomes flowers.

Evelyn Yukie Nakamura
Evelyn Yukie Nakamura, of Kealia, Hawai‘i, passed away on May 28, 2023, at Hale Kupuna Heritage House at the age of 92. She was born on Dec. 7, 1930. She was a retired housekeeper.
She was preceded in death by husband Toshio Nakamura, parents Kanichi and Nellie Dodo and brother Dennis K. Dodo.
She is survived by sons Erwin (Florencia) Nakamura of Hanama‘ulu, Ken (Michele) Nakamura of Kealia, daughter Lori (Michael) Kiyabu of Kapa‘a, grandchildren Liana (Randall) Koerte, Jasmine (Branson) Osakoda, Kennilyn (Jason) Nakamura, Kira (Jacob) Kellow, step-grandchildren Lori Balisacan, Michael K. Kiyabu, Kalo and Kaleo Kellow, great-grandchildren Brielle Osakoda, Keala and Kawai Holdridge, Jacob (JJ) Kellow Jr., sisters Josephine Dodo of Kealia,Eleanor (Tom) Kajiwara of Hanama‘ulu, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A private service was held. The family requests no koden.
