Coach Rose Ann Jerves of the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football League said the GoFundMe page is now active at https://gofund.me/6bec50ac. The Kapa‘a Eagles (they got their name from a previous donation from a National Football League player) greatly appreciate the effort to enable the team (they had nearly 100 youngsters participating in the 2022 season) to open for the 2023 season that starts Aug. 1.

Coach Teddy Arroyo, Pop Warner Wescon Regional Director, said the silver lining in the misfortune is they just got the permits for a new building after eight years of work. He also had mahalo for Riddell equipment for their concern over making sure the players were properly equipped to have a safe season.
The Kapa‘a Pop Warner football storage shed burned down Wednesday, May 31, 2023, and with it most of the team’s equipment and other items.
Coach Bobby Thompson is going to be busy since the Kaua‘i Police Activities League starts its flag football program on Saturday, the same day as the 5th Kaua‘i Pride Parade (check out the traffic advisories!), and the visit by the Moriyama City officials, who sailed around the world aboard a 47-foot yacht.
The Kaua‘i Poke Festival (is Chef Sam Choy going to make his stop at the Saturday Grove Farm Market in Puhi?) takes place on Saturday, June 3, 2023, and The Taste of Hawai‘i returns (no wonder Jackie Nelson has been missing aboard Fast Company), Sunday, June 4, 2023, at Smith’s Tropical Paradise in Wailua. Parking is at Vidinha Stadium with a shuttle to get to, and from the event, billed as “the ultimate Sunday brunch.”
And then summer school starts up.
