LIHU‘E — Nearly 500 keiki are raring to go on Saturday after the Kaua‘i Police Activities League announced the first flag football season since 2019.
LIHU‘E — Nearly 500 keiki are raring to go on Saturday after the Kaua‘i Police Activities League announced the first flag football season since 2019.
The free games will start at 9 a.m. and the public is encouraged to attend to cheer on the young football players, who will be playing on four fields set up at the North Vidinha fields.
Keiki from Kilauea to the westside will be playing in four age group divisions, including Bobcats, Troopers, Cubs, and Wildcats in the season that starts Saturday and will continue for eight weeks.
K-Pal is devoted to instilling character, self-esteem, and healthy lifestyles in keiki that range from kindergarten through 12th grade students. It does this by employing the slogan “Obey the L.AW” where L means listen to your parents and coaches; A means having a good attitude, and W means to have a strong work ethic.
K-Pal is also looking for more volunteer coaches and referees for the flag football season. Interested individuals can complete a volunteer form that is found on www.kauai.gov/police, or email kpak@kauai.gov for more information.
